Most of the humans responsible for shooting the Hulk into space have been beaten and captured. Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt are imprisoned on the Hulk's stone ship, hovering over Manhattan. As Dr. Strange tries desperately to breach the Hulk's psyche, the Hulk finds himself once again under attack by the US military under the leadership of General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross. Finally finding an opening, the Sorcerer Supreme confronts Bruce Banner about the Hulk's actions in his return to earth. But to Dr. Strange's surprise, Bruce is in full agreement that the Hulk deserves his vengeance. The two are united in purpose. As Hiroim the Shamed begins to breach the spells surrounding Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange is forced to take desperate action to defend himself against the shadow priest, and to fight the Hulk.
