A girl is sent from the big city to spend the summer with her relatives in the rural midwest. Her reactions are initially skeptical towards the region, and the only hero they see regularly there, Roustabout. But as the summer wears on, she learns that while there may be fewer people, and less action, everybody knows everybody else in this rural town. Including Roustabout.
