The Watcher spins a tale of what might have happened had Drax and Moondragon been unable to free Galactus from Annihilus' grasp. Harried by Nova, and the former heralds of Galactus, the first scouts of the Annihilation Wave reach Earth during the final battle of the Civil War. Just as Captain America is about to surrender, one of the waves ships crashes to earth, changing everything. Now the heroes who had been divided by the Superhero Registration Act find themselves united against a common threat. And not only the heroes, but the villains as well, fight to save the world. But even with the aid of the Inhumans, does Earth have the strength to stand up to the forces of Annihilus, when the Kree and the Skrulls have both already fallen?
