It is One Year Later, and the immortal Vandal Savage returns from a year in space riding a comet. We follow his memories of his first kill, him killing the inventor of the wheel, his attempt to overthrow Constantine, and being in chains as a slave. Inter woven, we learn of the loss of his modern day empire, his organs banks destroyed, his lieutenants dead or deserted, his organs failing and brain tumor. He has 11 days to live, and only enough time to get revenge on one person, Alan Scott, Green Lantern.
