Description
The Wildfire Express!!
Spider-Woman happens upon the crooks Hammer and Anvil attacking a Rolls Royce and swoops in to stop them. After a brief battle, she forces the two crooks to escape. However, they manage to succeed in their mission: Kidnapping Lady Amanda Sheridan. Spider-Woman rescues Lady Sheridan's granddaughter, Samantha. They find that the Anvil had dropped an ID card identifying him as a member of Deterrence Research Corporation. Going back to the Sheridan estate, Spider-Woman learns that Lady Sheridan has been involved in a bid to buy out DRC in order to shut them down due to their immoral arms-building practices (Samantha's parents were killed when they were used as Guinea pigs for a nerve gas.) Spider-Woman agrees to help Samantha get her grandmother back. Getting information from her business partner Scotty and hiring her actress friend Lindsay McCabe, Spider-Woman sets about infiltrating the DRC complex under the auspice of them trying to obtain jobs. Sneaking away and changing her disguise, Jessica breaks into a secure area with a doctored ID card. Changing into her Spider-Woman costume, she clashes with Hammer and Anvil as well as Mandroid soldiers. However, Jessica is saved by Lady Sheridan, who had managed to break free and get into a suit of Mandroid armor as well. Spider-Woman breaks Sheridan out and the two flee into the woods. There, they are chased by Hammer, Anvil and a team of soldiers in Mandroid armor. Spider-Woman manages to defeat the two super-criminals and she and Sheridan flee into the woods, taking their chances with a wildfire that is now raging nearby. They manage to flee and arrive at the important business meeting to buy out DRC. When one of the DRC thugs tries to shoot Amanda, Spider-Woman zaps him with a venom blast, and all the paperwork is filled out. Later while relaxing at the beach with Lindsay, Jessica is a witness to the police hassling the criminal Angar the Screamer. When prompted to show some ID, Angar simply screams.
