There are more major upheavals in Peter's life. First, a man in a Spider-Man costume robs a bank. Then, Gwen's mom leaves the family, and Gwen ends up staying with the Parker's while her father is out of town, which causes major stress between Peter and Mary Jane. Finally, when the Spider-Man imposter robs a second bank, Peter arrives, but is not well greeted by the police.
