Iron Man, Vol. 1 #63 (1973)

Still unable to track down Happy, Pepper continues to work with Tony Stark in Detroit. Meanwhile, Dr. Kenji Obatu is visiting S.I. in New York, where he is suddenly attacked by nameless thugs. Eddie March is on hand to help him defend himself, and March then agrees to accompany Obatu to Detroit to see Stark. In Detroit, Stark is assaulted by Dr. Spectrum and his power prism, and manages to fend off the attacks just well enough to stay alive. Left for dead, he returns to the local Stark offices to upgrade his armour before the rematch. Once there, he comforts Pepper, and is the (mostly) unwilling recipient of a kiss from her just as Happy walks in.
