Angel Of Mercy, Angel Of Death / The Council Calls for Death
"Batman and Zatanna: Angel of Mercy, Angel of Death!": Batman suspects a faith-healer called Angela Marcy from being a fraud and from murder, but Zatanna decides to prove Batman wrong. When the people that have been formerly "cured" by the miracles of Marcy start becoming ill once again, Zatanna admits that there is more than meets the eye and she works with Batman to find the truth behind Marcy's miracles. Batman and Zatanna arrange a plan of action, but their attempts of learning the truth are thwarted when a mob boss becomes interested in being healed from a rare heart disease by Marcy and he has her kidnapped along with Zatanna. When Batman tries to intervene, he is attacked by a mysterious man and knocked unconscious. When Batman recovers, he finds himself locked inside a crypt, the same place where the mob boss has taken Zatanna and Marcy. When the faith-healer is unable to cure the criminal, Batman breaks free and attacks the thugs, allowing Zatanna to use her magic. They capture all the thugs, except for the mob boss, who dies from a heart attack after watching Batman in action. At that moment, Marcy's assistant reveals that he used placebos on all of Marcy's cases, which was what his friend and Marcy's father's desire. When the case is cleared, Marcy gives up her faith-healing services. Nemesis: The Council Calls for Death": The Council convenes a meeting to learn of the menace of Nemesis, and, during the process, reveals the truth about Ben Marshall's murder.
