An assasination in Kandor and an attempt on the life of Alura Zor-El throws the ruling Council of New Krypton into chaos. All of the evidence points to the spokesman for the Labor Guild, Tam-Or... but Adam Strange and Kal-El are thinking that the evidence adds up a little too well. Looking to make contact with the fugitive Tam-Or, Kal-El reaches out to Tyr-Van, the Labor Guild liaison who initially showed him around Kandor. Tyr leads Kal-El and Adam Strange to a secret lead-lined facility in New Kandor, where aliens are being brought and slaughtered for their hides. Clearly there are wheels in motion that have been hidden from Kal-El, despite the fact that he's been leading the Military Guild since General Dru-Zod was injured.
