Indigo-1 has removed Hal Jordan from Earth, teleporting him to Zamaron where the Star Sapphires are beset by Sinestro who seeks to free his imprisoned Corpsmen. Both sides have come under attack by the Black Lanterns currently sweeping through the Universe. But the infestation of the Black Lanterns proves to be too great for the small group to overturn themselves. Eventually, the doomed lovers who provide the Zamaron's central power battery with power are themselves raised as Black Lanterns, heralding the fall of Zamaron. Indigo-1 once again teleports Hal, along with Carol Ferris and Sinestro. But this time, she takes them to Korugar, where Mongul's faction of the Sinestro Corps has set up a new home base after their failure on Daxam. Now Sinestro must defeat Mongul to reclaim sole control over the Sinestro Corps, and save his people from Mongul's tyranny.
