As the Zamarons attack Jordan, Carol tries to remove the Star Sapphire from Cowgirl's head. The gem then forces Jordan to choose between the two women but, in an effort to confuse it, Jordan kisses one of the Zamarons, making the sapphire select her. The Zamarons are forced to return to their home world, leaving Jordan and the others free.Jordan, Carol and Cowgirl retire for a beer and suffer an uncomfortable silence until Carol leaves.On the Zamaron home world, they begin collecting the sapphires into lanterns, revealing that they have a green, yellow and now a purple lanter. On the dais where they are displayed, there is room for four more.Some time later, Jordan visits Ferris Air and meets his old friend Tom Kalmaku who tells him that Carol has been divorced.
