Captain Marvel, Part 2: Reconstruction
The entire world is trying to figure out why and how Captain Marvel returned, including Mar-Vell himself. Tony Stark has noticed Mar-Vell's obsession with a Charles LeBrun painting, and has a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent assigned to find out why. He has also assigned Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) to get close to Mar-Vell and learn more about his current mindset and behaviour. During that investigation, they are attacked by the Cobalt Man, who is also not as dead as people would seem to expect. Mar-Vell and Tony eventually meet on the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, each thinking the other called the meeting, only to be attacked by what appears to be a Kree vessel, despite the events of Annihilation: Conquest making it seemingly impossible to contact any Kree.
