Evolutionary War - Adam; Moth To The Flame; Mantis; High Evolutionary Chapter Three: The Men, The Mine, The Mountain
Multiple stories are collected in this issue. "Adam" - The third chapter of the Evolutionary War begins when the High Evolutionary comes to Olympia to recruit Eternals to his cause. He asks them to acquire the Silver Surfer so that he may study his genome more completely. When the Surfer returns to Earth (in search of the late Mantis' son), he encounters a newly reformed Super Skrull, who is completely unaware of recent events. The Eternals capture both, and begin to study the Super Skrull before the Silver Surfer breaks him free. The Surfer hopes that the Super Skrull, the last remaining Skrull with shapeshifting abilities, will bring those abilities back to the Skrull empire and end the war. "Nova" - Nova returns to Galactus, only to learn that he is in serious condition as a result of ingesting the Elders. He asks her to bring Silver Surfer, Reed Richards, and Sue Richards to him to help his plight. "Mantis" - This story reveals Mantis waking up, remembering the day taking place just after her wedding to the Cotati, with no recollection of how she found herself in this Earth bound apartment or why she can no longer communicate with plant life. She decides to see the Avengers for help. Next are found several Ron Lim pinups of Silver Surfer, Nova, Mantis, Shalla Bal, Nenora, The Supreme Intelligence, Kulor, S'Byll, and Galactus. "The Men, The Mine, The Mountain" - This third chapter in the origin of the High Evolutionary, the man he was (Herbert Edgar Wyndham) discovers a uranium deposit on a friends' property. Planning to sell the ore to fund their research, he and his partner are thrilled. However, when his friend's daughter seeing something out of the window to her room, they begin searching the land. At this point, a mysterious man (who Wyndham met in Geneva in an earlier chapter) brings him below ground, offering the use of the Mole People to do his work.
