Brother Blood has the power to raise the dead, and he is using it to summon allies! Raven and Beast Boy go to the afterlife and discover a "door", cracked open by Superman's resurrection, has allowed souls to return from the dead. Chained to it is Kid Eternity, whose chaos-granted powers allow him to summon the shades of the dead for short periods, and whom Brother Blood is using to hold the door open so he can summon the dead. And to guard that portal? Several dead Titans! Beast Boy and Raven must fight them off and free Kid Eternity so he can seal the passage by closing the "door". When they return to Earth, Kid Eternity is deeply angry with Brother Blood for his sins, and summons the shades of the previous Brother Bloods, each of whom was murdered by his son! Needless to say, they are also angry... An interleaved backup feature of the Zoo Crew finds them continuing to investigate who murdered little cheese and stranded Fastback in the future. They discover to their shock and sorrow that the culprit is very close to home: Alley-Kat-Abra has betrayed the team and murdered Little Cheese, solely because... she's a cat and she hates mice! She's in custody, but what is the future of the United Species of America? For it seems her betrayal is rooted in a deal that reaches all the way to Mallard Fillmore in the White House!
