As the Infinite Crisis rages, two Superman battle on the deserted Earth-2 floating in orbit near to New Earth. Both fight for the survival of their respective worlds. Kal-L believes that New Earth is a corruption that must be rooted out for the good of the Universe, to be replaced by Earth-2, a better Earth. Kal-El fights to defend his adopted home from this other Superman of whom he has no memory. With every earth-shattering blow, Kal-El finds himself in Kal-L's earth, with future knowledge that he hopes to use to prevent suffering, transforming the Earth-2 of Kal-L's memory into a paradise.
