Description
The 4th Parallel, Part 3: Regicide
With the Red King having either conquered or destroyed the three alternate realities left in the Materioptikon, the Justice League on each of them struggles to find a way to defeat him. They eventually manage to get Plastic Man into the Materioptikon by sacrificing themselves and one of the realities, so that he can contact Dr Destony. The Batman in one of the realities contacts Dr Destiny who, in turn, is able to rely his messages to Plastic Man.The murderous Red King appears in the reality where he is a hero and fights his counterpart, trying to force him to merge with him. Before the murderous version kills him, the heroic version opens his mind to the Martian Manhunter, allowing him to use the information in his mind. With the murderous version triumphant, he and the League retreat to the moon where the Red King plans to kill them all; however, when he merged with his other version, he also absorbed some of the other's feelings for Wonder Woman which prevents him from harming her. Calling his bluff, the League manage to gain hold of the Materioptikon and force the Red King back into its pocket dimension. With Batman's help, Destiny is free within it and plans to gain his revenge on the Red King who is imprisoned with him.
