On Mars, J'onn J'onnz thinks back to the first time he met Superman, comparing how their lives have differed despite the similarities of being the last survivors of their respective races. Hidden in his mind, the spirit of his brother Ma'alefa'ak goads him, highlighting the differences. Despite this, J'onnz remembers Superman coming to his aid when he was contronted by a xenophobic crowd spurred on by Lex Luthor.Following a brief altercation, Superman introduces J'onn to other heroes.
