Ma Gnucci, furious at the Punisher's killing of her three sons, orders her consigliori to place a hit on the Punisher. Gnucci's consigliori; Joe Malizia, meets three hitmen and assigns them their new target clueless that Frank listens in on their briefing. While Frank continues his war on the Gnuccis, political pressure forces the creation of a new police task force to arrest the Punisher. The "task force" consists of the department's biggest loser, Det. Soap and newly hired behavioral psychologist Buddy Plugg. Finally we are introduced to the mentally disturbed Father Redondo who has a very bad habit of judging sinners with his axe when they come to confession. The Punisher kills 5 people this issue: Two by vehicular manslaughter, one by Uzi SMG, one by subway rail accident, and one by knife.
